SUBPAR SUBS: Netflix said it added 1.2 million U.S. video streaming subscribers in the third quarter, below analysts' forecasts, and trimmed its annual growth estimate from as much as 7 million additions to between 4.7 million and 5.4 million.
STOCK SLUMP: Investors were unhappy with the downgraded forecast. Shares fell $11.13, or 16.3 percent, to $57.09 in after-hours trading.
SLOWER NEW STARTS: Netflix says that after launching in four Nordic countries last week it will wait until international losses are steadily declining and it is profitable globally before resuming its international expansion in new territories.
