Here's a look at the key differences between the iPad Mini, updated full-sized iPad and previous models. The two versions announced Tuesday will have the new Lightning connector, which was introduced with the iPhone 5 last month. Previous models used the connector adapted from the iPod.
iPad Mini (available Nov. 2):
- Prices: 16-gigabyte Wi-Fi-only model for $329, 32 gigabytes for $429 and 64 gigabytes for $529. Cellular models cost $130 more.
- Screen size: 7.9 inches diagonally
- Thickness: 0.28 inch
- Weight: 0.68 pound (0.69 pound for cellular versions)
- Screen resolution: Sharper, Retina display, 1024 by 768 pixels
- Cameras: 5-megapixel camera on back and a low-resolution camera on front, for videoconferencing
- Video recording: high-definition (1080p - comparable to the resolution of a 40-inch flat-panel TV), up to 30 frames per second with audio
- Battery life: 10 hours.

Fourth-generation iPad (available Nov. 2):
