ST. LOUIS (AP) - Charter Communications Inc., the country's fourth-largest cable-TV provider, said Tuesday that it kept shedding customers in the third quarter, but added ones for broadband.
The St. Louis-based company said it lost $87 million, or 87 cents per share, in the July to September period, compared with a loss of $85 million, or 79 cents per share, a year earlier. Revenue grew 4 percent to $1.88 billion.
Charter lost 72,000 TV customers in the quarter, while adding 78,000 broadband customers and 60,000 phone customers.
Charter shares fell $1.73, or 2.4 percent, to $71.21 in afternoon trading.
