Zags Inch Closer to Top 10 Status

Gonzaga is approaching the status of a top ten team in college basketball following a sweep of the field at the Old Spice Classic in Florida.

The Zags moved up from No. 17 to No. 12 in AP Top 25 poll released Monday.

The jump in the poll came after the Bulldogs beat Davidson 81-67 in the tournament title game on Sunday. Elias Harris had 24 points to go along with his 10 rebounds – his 23rd career double-double.

Indiana remains the No. 1 team in the nation. Duke moved up to No. 2 after the Blue Devils beat Louisville in the championship game of the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament. Michigan moved up to third.

Gonzaga plays at home against Lewis-Clark State on Thursday. They host Pacific on Saturday. Both games can be seen on KHQ and SWX in the Spokane region and on ROOT outside the local viewing area.
