Zags to Begin Season Ranked No. 22 in Coaches Poll

Gonzaga will begin the 2012-13 season ranked No. 22 in the USA Today coaches poll.

The poll, released Wednesday, had Indiana at No. 1, followed by Louisville, Kentucky, Ohio State and Michigan. Gonzaga was the only team from the West Coast Conference in the preseason top 25. Saint Mary's showed up in the "Others receiving votes" section.

The top team from the West Coast is Arizona at No. 11. UCLA is No. 13. UNLV is No. 19 and San Diego State is No. 20.

The Zags begin play Oct. 27 with an exhibition game against Northwest Nazarene. The regular season begins Nov. 9 against Southern Utah.
