The Chiefs returned to their winning ways in convincing fashion Saturday night against Everett, blanking the Silvertips 5-0 in front of 7,024 fans at the Spokane Arena. Eric Williams recorded his first shutout of the season as the Chiefs improved to 8-1-0-0 at home and 12-6-0-0 overall.

Spokane took an early 1-0 lead against the Silvertips at the 3:00 mark as Connor Chartier beat Everett goalie Austin Lotz with assists from Jason Fram and Adam Power. The Chiefs defense protected that advantage with a great penalty kill starting at 8:17 as Everett failed to get a single shot on goal during their power play.Collin Valcourt stretched Spokane's lead to 2-0 at 17:05, snagging the rebound from a Dylan Walchuk shot and firing it into the back of the net. Williams was superlative in the period as he turned away all eight of Everett's shots including a number of highlight reel saves. The Chiefs struck again early in the second, scoring at 4:28 as Adam Helewka went top shelf off an assist from Chartier. Spokane then took advantage of a power play to go ahead 4-0 at the 7:41 mark as Todd Fiddler scored, again beating Lotz top shelf, with an assist from Aviani.Brenden Kichton got things going in the third period with a power play goal at 2:10 as he rocketed a shot past Lotz with assists from Aviani and Fiddler. Kichton's seventh goal of the season capped the scoring for the night as Williams, who finished 26 of 26 on save opportunities, kept the Silvertips off the board for the remainder of the game. Spokane finished the night 2 for 4 on the power play and 2 of 2 on the penalty kill. The Chiefs are home again on Tuesday against Everett at 7:05 PM for TicketsWest Player Magnet Giveaway and Election Night.
