Whitworth Survives in Home Opener 17-14

Whitworth survives Saturday in their home opener on a missed 37 yard field goal by Chapman with no time left on the clock to take the victory 17-14.

 Ronnie Thomas and the Whitworth offense got off to a sluggish start, but Thomas came alive in the 2nd half, rushing for 134 yards on 22 carries in the game.

 The victory propels Whitworth to their first 4-0 start since the 2004 season.
