Stanford's Offense Bruises; Cardinal Defense Will Be Tough for WSU

It's been a long two weeks for Washington State, as the Cougars get ready for their first game since losing to Cal two weekends ago. Saturday's game against Stanford will be a different kind of a challenge.

While the Cardinal are known for their power running game led by Stepfan Taylor, they are dynamic in other areas as well.

But Cougar quarterback Jeff Tuel is focused on beating the explosive Stanford defense.

"I think the most challenging thing is going to be stopping the pass rush and me getting the ball out quick and efficiently and find the right receivers," said Tuel. "I won't be able to hold the ball as long."

Tuel will get the start on Saturday – his first since facing Eastern Washington on Sept. 8.
