It's been quite awhile since the Shock took the field for a game at the Spokane Arena, but the team finally returns home Friday.
The Shock are still fighting for prime playoff seading, which means not having to face the Arizona Rattlers in the first round. A big step can be taken toward that direction on Friday when the San Antonio Talons come into town.
The Talons are 9-7 and tied with Chicago atop the Central Division standings and will be looking to keep their playoff aspirations alive. If the Shock can grab the win, it would do major damage to San Antonio's playoff chances, as it is out of the running for a wild-card spot.
If the Shock can win, it would also give them a greater chance to host a playoff game. Chicago will not host a playoff contest due to arena conflicts, which would give the No. 3 seed a chance to play at home.
Therefore, the Shock can help themselves with a win and by handing San Antonio a loss.
