For the first time in a month Spokane is on the rebound after a loss.
A 73-62 defeat in Chicago last Sunday ended the Shock's season-high three-game win streak. The culprit in that loss was pretty obvious.
Two costly interceptions.
Mistakes like those are something the quarterback Kyle Rowley and the Shock can ill afford this coming weekend against the Kansas City Command.
"Offensively we turned the ball over too many times," said coach Andy Olson. "We were rushing it the whole second half to try to get our defense back on the field. Any time you're playing that way – catch up – you're going to make a mistake. We shouldn't have made those mistakes in the first half that put us in that situation."
You always hate to look back when you're headed forward. But…
"We can't do those kinds of things – we can't turn the ball over. Turnovers will kill you every time," said defensive back Terrance Sanders.
The Shock's game against Kansas City is Saturday at 7 p.m. at Spokane Arena. It will be live on FOX and FOXRightNow.com.
Spokane plays three of its next four games at home, with crucial divisional matchups against Utah, San Jose and Arizona later this month.
Shock Stay Put in Coaches Poll
Despite losing in the Windy City last week, coaches in the AFL still think the Shock are the 7th-best team in the league. The coaches poll came out on Wednesday. Spokane stayed put.
Arizona also stayed put at No. 1. San Jose fell from No. 2 to No. 4 after a loss to Milwaukee. San Antonio was No. 2. Philadelphia was No. 3.
