Shock Get Total Effort, Complete Game Against Kansas City

The Spokane Shock are back in the win column, thanks to a total team effort Saturday night.
The Shock dominated the Command in all phases of the game, especially in the air. Quarterback Kyle Rowley passed for eight touchdowns to five different receivers, including the suddenly emerging Steven Black and little-used Jeffrey Solomon.
The result: a 70-46 pasting of Kansas City.
"We had some new guys at receiver with Solomon in there and Steven Black getting some more playing time than normal, and Rod Harper," said Rowley. "I think our guys did a great job, especially the fact that some are new to the offense. They were running hard and getting open and we were converting on most of our drives."
Saturday's game was a must-win for the Shock, who are battling to get into the playoffs. A loss by Utah would have been nice, but that didn't happen. Instead, the Blaze torched Chicago 68-28 to claim the fourth playoff spot in the National Conference.
Spokane and Utah meet for the second time this season on Saturday at Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena. With a win, the Shock can leapfrog the Blaze for third place in the Western Division. The game, at 7 p.m. (PT), will be shown live on FOX, FOXRightNow.com and on mobile devices through the Syncbak app.
