Shock Get Another Veteran in Beau Bell

The Spokane Shock organization must be doing something right. Otherwise, why would it continue to sign veteran after veteran for the upcoming season?

The team said Monday it had been assigned Beau Bell, a linebacker who spent 2011 and 2012 with the Shock. The former UNLV rebel was originally drafted by the Cleveland Browns, and also spent time with the BC Lions of the CFL.

Beau is the best mac-linebacker in this league and his presence gives us another great pass rusher that opposing offenses will have to account for," said Shock General Manager Ryan Rigmaiden.

Below is the news release from the Spokane Shock:

The Shock have been assigned linebacker Beau Bell to the 2013 roster.

Bell, a product of UNLV and former fourth round draft pick by the NFL's Cleveland Browns, returns to Spokane for the 2013 AFL season after his second season with the Shock in 2012 and spending time with the CFL's BC Lions in their 2012 training camp. Last season for the Shock, Bell saw action at mac-linebacker but was limited due to injury and missed additional games during his departure to the CFL. While active, Bell recorded 16 tackles, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and one interception. After spending time with the UFL's Omaha Nighthawks in 2011, Bell joined the Shock and quickly became an integral part of Spokane's defense and from the mac-linebacker position recorded 51.1 total tackles, 5.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, and a blocked kick.

"Beau is the best mac-linebacker in this league and his presence gives us another great pass rusher that opposing offenses will have to account for," said Shock General Manager Ryan Rigmaiden.
