The Shock have been assigned Gerald Gooden and Chase Vaughn to the 2013 roster.

Gooden, a product of the Purdue Boilermakers, joins the Shock as a pass rushing defensive end. After playing three seasons for the Boilermakers where he started at defensive end for 24 games (played in 36 total contests), Gooden spent time with the NFL's Arizona Cardinals. 2013 will mark Gooden's rookie campaign in the Arena Football League.

Vaughn, a product of the Colorado State University – Pueblo Thunderwolves, joins the Shock as a versatile defensive end and linebacker after spending time with the CFL's Calgary Stampede, UFL's Las Vegas Locomotives, and IFL's Colorado Ice. Vaughn played his final two collegiate seasons for CSU-Pueblo after transferring from Adams State College in Alamosa, Colorado.

"Gooden and Vaughn are both explosive pass rushers with the ability to play on the defensive line or at linebacker for us," said Shock Head General Manager Ryan Rigmaiden.
