Portland State overwhelms Idaho State 77-10

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Quarterback Kieran McDonagh accounted for six touchdowns - scoring via rush, pass and reception - and Portland State walloped Idaho State 77-10 on Saturday night.

McDonagh rushed for 67 yards and four touchdowns, was 15 of 23 for 280 yards and a TD passing and caught a 22-yard scoring toss for the Vikings (2-4, 1-2 Big Sky). DJ Adams ran for 148 yards and a TD on 14 carries.

Kevin Yost was 26 of 44 for 281 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions for the Bengals (1-4, 0-2), who were within 21-10 after Brendon Garcia's 26-yard field goal in the second quarter. They were outscored 56-0 afterward.

McDonagh had 3 of his rushing scores and caught his TD pass on a halfback option throw by Thomas Carter in the first half. He threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to Carter in the third quarter to make the score 49-10.

The Vikings forced five turnovers, and 2 of them resulted in TDs in a 17-second span in the third quarter. Ian Sluss had a 52-yard interception return, and after the subsequent kickoff, Khalil Bass returned a fumble 24 yards for a 63-10 lead.
