Motum Says Cougars 'Let our foot off the gas' Against EWU

Yes, The Cougars beat the Eagles. Yes, Brock Motum had another big game. So did DaVonte Lacy. Even still, Washington State feels it has plenty of work to do.

Motum finished Saturday's game with another double-double – the fourth of his career. He scored 23 points and brought down 10 rebounds to help WSU beat EWU 88-69.

DaVonte Lacy and Mike Ladd added 15 points each.

Washington State also out-rebounded Eastern Washington 47-34, and their defense held the Eagles to just 34 percent shooting from the field.

Impressive numbers? Well, yes, but…

"I think we let our foot off the gas a little bit towards the end of the second half," said Motum. "We can't make that a habit."

Motum and the Cougars' next game is Wednesday in Pullman against Utah Valley. They play in Malibu at Pepperdine on Friday, followed by another road game next Monday at Kansas.
