PULLMAN, Wash. - Defensive tackle Anthony Laurenzi has been kicked off the Washington State football team, the university confirmed to SWX on Thursday.

First-year head coach Mike Leach reportedly met Laurenzi Thursday, after returning home from Pac-12 media day in Southern California Wednesday night.

Laurenzi allegedly stole a pair of headphones from Wal*Mart, and was arrested for shoplifting on Sunday.

His dismissal leaves a hole on WSU's defensive line, where Laurenzi was expected to be a starter heading into fall camp, which begins in exactly one week.
