Idaho's Marboe on Rimington Trophy Watch List

by Univ. of Idaho Athletics

University of Idaho sophomore football player Mike Marboe was announced to the 2012 Fall Watch List for the Rimington Trophy on Tuesday.

The award annually honors the nation's top center, based on the All-America team selections by the American Football Coaches Association, Walter Camp Foundation, Sporting News and Football Writers Association of America.

Marboe started every game at center last season as a redshirt freshman out of Wenatchee, Wash. (Wenatchee HS). He was a consistent performer at center in 2011 as a freshman and emerged as a strong leader on the Vandal line during the spring.

Marboe was honored in May on the Rimington Trophy Spring Watch List. Idaho football starts fall camp on Aug. 1 and opens the 2012 season on Aug. 30 at home against Eastern Washington. Kickoff for the Thursday night game is 6 p.m. (PDT).
