Gonzaga Steady at No. 14

Gonzaga stayed put at No. 14 in the AP Top 25 poll released Monday, while Duke became the new No. 1 following a loss by Indiana over the weekend.

The Zags beat Kansas State 68-52 in their only game last week. Kelly Olynyk led all scores with 20 points, and senior Elias Harris added 10.

Gonzaga's win was the team's first since falling to now-No. 10 Illinois the week before.

"You look at the reasons why you lost and then you just go after it in practice and try to correct the mistakes that we did against Illinois so they don't happen again – which they didn't," said Harris in explaining the bounceback against Kansas State.

"We really wanted to focus on coming out in the second half and making that jump," said Olynyk. " I think that really lifted us and then we took it from there and didn't look back."

Gonzaga gets a break this week with just one game. They host Campbell on Wednesday – a game seen live on KHQ and SWX (ROOT outside the Spokane area). It will be their final game before the Christmas break. They host Baylor on Dec. 28 and play at Oklahoma State on New Year's Eve.

Duke the new No. 1

Duke moved from No. 2 to No. 1 in the AP poll after Indiana lost 88-86 to Butler in overtime on Saturday. The Blue Devils moved up despite not playing last week.

Michigan is the new No. 2, followed by Syracuse. Arizona, from the Pac-12, is No. 4, followed Lousiville, Indiana, Ohio State, Florida, Kansas and Illinois.
