Eastern Washington fell just one spot in the SportsNetwork Top 25 poll after losing to Washington State on Saturday.
The poll, released Monday, shows the Eagles at No. 10. They began last week ranked No. 9.
Eastern Washington nearly pulled off the upset in Pullman, but lost 24-20 to the Cougars, led by new head coach Mike Leach. Quarterback Kyle Padron had a monster of a game, throwing for 379 yards and two touchdowns in the loss.
"We expected to win this game and we fell short," said Padron. "But it's not going to make or break our season. We've got a bye week and them it's into conference play, so we are just looking forward to that now."
The Eagles rest this week before playing Weber State in Utah on Sept. 22.
North Dakota State (2-0) became the new No. 1 team in the FCS. Sam Houston State (1-0) is No. 2. Montana State (2-0) rose to No. 3 after beating Drake 34-24. Montana (1-1) fell to No. 14.
