CHENEY, Wash – Football season is here for Eastern Washington University, as day one of fall camp opened up on Wednesday.
The Eagles finished up 2012 with a final record of 11-3 and made it to the FCS semifinals. Going into this year, Eastern's roster has plenty of holes to fill with 10 players lost from last year's team. Nine were loss to graduation and the other was Jordan Tonani who was lost for the season due to injury.
Even with the losses, there are several key returners from last year's team. Quarterback Vernon Adams returns for his sophomore season and looks to be the permanent starter this season. The All-American tag-team of linebacker Ronnie Hamlin and cornerback T.J. Lee are back for their senior season, and look to lead the defensive unit.
Fall camp will continue through the next few weeks, before the Eagles open up the season Corvallis, Oregon when they take on the Oregon State Beavers.
