ELLENSBURG, Wash. -- Central Washington football is coming off a 41-17 stomping of Azusa Pacific, the newcomer to the GNAC. Running backs Demtrius Sumler and Johri Fogerson ran for more than 100 yards each and totaled four of the Wildcats' five touchdowns. It would have been Central's home opener, but the bad air quality forced them to move it to Bothell.
"Well it was a crazy week for us with the fire and smoke and air quality regulations that we had to face. We took practice on the road Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Once the decision was made to move the home game to Bothell and Pop Keeney Stadium, I thought out players and staff handled it well," head coach Blaine Bennett said.
