The Mountain West has been a jumble the past few years, 1 of the conferences most affected by college football's realignment.
With all that jumbling, the favorite to win this year's title won't be around next season.
Boise State, despite losing six players to the NFL draft, is the overwhelming pick to win the conference title before it heads off to the Big East next year.
The Mountain West added Hawaii, Fresno State and Nevada for this season. Utah State and San Jose State are scheduled to join next season, when San Diego State joins Boise State in bolting for the Big East.
Defending conference champion TCU will play in the Big 12 this season.
