Romney releases ad as part of new offensive

CLEVELAND (AP) - Republican Mitt Romney has released a new television ad that accuses President Barack Obama of sending tens of millions of taxpayer dollars to political allies.

The ad comes as part of a fresh, multi-pronged attack from the Romney campaign. The Republican presidential candidate is trying to move past questions about his own business career and personal finances.

Romney has repeatedly charged this week that Obama supports "crony capitalism" and a government-centered society.

The ad accuses Obama of sending stimulus money to "friends, donors, campaign supporters and special interest groups." It also charges that taxpayer dollars went to projects in Finland and China.

The Romney campaign did not say where the new ad will run, how often or for how long.
