UPDATE: Tien Le, the owner of Super Nails in Spokane Valley will be released on his own recognizance until his arraignment on October 17th.
Police arrested Le Tuesday inside his business for five counts of trafficking stolen property. Judge Annette Plese said Le has been living in his home for eight years in the five mile area and does not have a criminal history prior to this incident.
According to his release conditions he must remain in Spokane County and not engage in business other than with his nail salon.
PRESS RELEASE FROM THE SPOKANE POLICE DEPT: Spokane Police made a major property crimes arrest Tuesday. SPD Property Crimes Detectives executed two search warrants, simultaneously, just before 11 am at Super Nails in the Spokane Valley and at a residence in the Five Mile neighborhood.
Tien M. Le, 40, the owner of the nail salon, was arrested for five counts of Attempted Trafficking in Stolen Property. Detectives believe Le purchased items stolen in recent burglaries and then sold the items for thousands of dollars.
Detectives with SPD's Targeted Crimes Unit (TCU) and Special Investigations Unit (SIU) have been conducting this stolen property investigation since June. Detectives were able to gather enough evidence to arrest Tien M. Le (9/21/72) for Attempted Trafficking in Stolen Property and book him into the Spokane County Jail.
Le, who owns Super Nails at 1500 N. Pines, had been buying and selling stolen property for months and is believed to have made thousands of dollars in profit from local burglaries.
Over $3000.00 was seized from Le at the time of his arrest. Other stolen jewelry and electronics were seized during the search warrants of his home and business. Detectives will work to return items recovered from this trafficking operation to their rightful owners.
Spokane Police Detectives continue to investigate, collect evidence and solve a variety of property crimes. When stolen items are recovered, detectives work to return the items to their rightful owners.
