Near ROYAL CITY, Wash. (03NOV2012) – Wilmer Guerrero, wanted in connection with the Oct. 29 assault of a 17-year-old girl, was arrested Friday afternoon near Royal City. Guerrero, 20, who had been on the run since the attack, was captured by a team of United States Marshals, Grant County Sheriff's Deputies and the Moses Lake Regional Tactical Response Team. He is now lodged in the Grant County Jail on charges related to the assault.

ROYAL CITY, Wash. - Early Monday morning, Grant County Sheriff's Deputies were called to 14264 Crook Loop Southwest near Royal City for a report of a domestic assault. When Deputies arrived they found the 17-year-old girl with severe head wounds. The victim was transported to Samaritan Hospital for treatment. The victim and other witnesses were able to identify 20-year-old Wilmer S. Guerrero (photo attached) as the person responsible for the assault. Guerrero fled in a vehicle prior to deputy's arrival. That vehicle has since been recovered, but Guerrero remains at large. Deputies and Detectives spent numerous hours on scene investigating this crime. There is probable cause to arrest Guerrero on a charge of First Degree Assault. Citizens should not try to apprehend Guerrero and instead call police.
