UPDATE: Suspect In East Spokane Stabbing In Custody

Spokane Police Department Press Release:

Early Saturday morning patrol officers responded to a stabbing near the 400 block of S. Fiske shortly after 3 AM. Two men began arguing, then a fight broke out between them in which the suspect, Jesse D. Bell, (2/28/1991) pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim several times.

Arriving officers found the victim still at the scene; the 29-year old man had been stabbed multiple times in his torso, back, and arms. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Jesse fled the scene before officers arrived.

Major Crimes Detectives responded to the scene and following an intensive investigation, Jesse was arrested later the same day when he agreed to turn himself in to police. He was booked into jail on a charge of 1st Degree Assault. The victim survived and is currently hospitalized in stable condition.

We take these crimes seriously and encourage anyone with information about any violent crime to call Crime Check at 456-2233.
