UPDATE: Seattle Harbor Patrol Will Help Search For Man Who Went Missing On Columbia River

Monday UPDATE:

GRANT COUNTY, Wash. - Grant County Search And Rescue, with the assistance of an underwater robot from Franklin County searched all day for a man who went missing after jumping into the Columbia River on Sunday, however they are calling off the search until Tuesday.

Grant County Spokesman Kyle Foreman says they will be receiving help from the Seattle Police Department Harbor Patrol on Tuesday in an effort to find the man.

MATTAWA, Wash. - Grant County authorities are currently searching the Columbia River near the community of Desert Aire for a man who jumped into the river and has not been seen since. Deputies and Grant County District 8 were called to the river around 2:45 p.m. today. Reports say an adult male from out of the area was doing some type of recreational diving and did not resurface. Grant County Marine Unit Deputies are assisted by the SARBOT remote controlled underwater search robot owned by the Franklin County Sheriff's Office. No other information is currently available, but will be sent as soon as possible.

MATTAWA, Wash. - Sheriff's Deputies are involved in an underwater search for a man in Grant County near Mattawa.

Grant County Officials say they were called to the area of Desert Aire on the Columbia River at about 2:45PM Sunday for a report of an adult male from out of the area who jumped in the water and had not resurfaced or been seen since.

Currently Sheriff's Deputies and underwater search crews from Franklin County are on scene still searching for the man.
