KHQ.COM - On Tuesday afternoon Spokane police served a search warrant at Lonnie's auto body shop in the Perry District. They arrested 3 adult males for selling meth and oxycodone. The business is directly across the street from Grant Elementary School.
PRESS RELEASE FROM THE SPOKANE POLICE DEPT:
Wednesday afternoon marked the end of a long, coordinated effort by Spokane Police to rid the district of a chronic nuisance problem. Spokane Police received numerous complaints recently of drug activity at the Repair Shop.
SIU together with Neighborhood Conditions Officers and Code Enforcement coordinated their efforts to shut down the business. About a month ago the business was closed by Code Enforcement due to safety violations.
Employees were allowed in the business, only to make repairs to get the business up to code. On Wednesday the owner and two employees were booked into jail on felony drug charges.
Spokane Police would like to thank all the citizens that called in suspicious activity. This helped officers identify the problem and coordinate their effort to eradicate it and keep Spokane safe.
