UPDATE: Man Killed In Two Vehicle Crash In Airway Heights

AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. On Monday at 9:00 a.m., Spokane County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Geiger Blvd. and Thomas Mallen Rd.

Deputies arrived on scene and saw a loaded dump truck with a pup trailer had struck a delivery van in the middle of the intersection. The adult male driver of the delivery van was pronounced deceased at the scene by fire paramedics.

Based on initial observations by Sheriff's Office Traffic Investigators, it appeared the driver of the dump truck was traveling east on Geiger Blvd. and turned north onto Thomas Mallen Road in front of the delivery van.

The dump truck struck the driver's side door of the delivery van.

At this point in the investigation it does not appear that drugs or alcohol played a factor in the collision.

The investigation is ongoing and the identity of the deceased driver will be released by the Medical Examiner's Office at a later time.
