PREVIOUS STORY FROM 5/19/13:
COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho - At around 8:00am Sunday morning Coeur d'Alene Police Officers were called to 2301 N. 4th St. after receiving a report that a car had driven into the side of a building. When emergency responders arrived they found an SUV crashed halfway through the International House Of Pancakes.
The silver 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by a 26 year old female, had been driven into the south side of the building, breaking through the wall. Half of the vehicle was inside the restaurant.
Police say no one inside the restaurant was struck by the vehicle, and there were no injuries reported.
The female driver of the vehicle suffered no injuries visible to officers, but was transported to Kootenai Medical Center where she is undergoing further medical evaluation.
Alcohol use is suspected as a factor in the crash, but due to the on-going medical evaluations, the female was not physically arrested.
She has however, been issued a citation for Driving Under the Influence.
