UPDATE: Authorities are now telling KHQ that this fire is suspicious, we'll post more details as they become available.
DETAILS:
SPOKANE, Wash. - Firefighters responded to a fully involved structure fire in the 1500 block of W. Knox Avenue around 9:00pm Wednesday night. That is near the intersection of Knox and Northwest Blvd.
Crews tell KHQ that the home, which is in foreclosure, is a loss. There was no electricity to the home and gas had been shut off some time ago. No one was inside when it caught fire. Two dogs though are unaccounted for. The Red Cross is helping the homeowner and another occupant.
Firefighters also worked to protect neighboring houses on either side of the structure. Those homeowners will be dealing with some heat damage.
Streets in the area were blocked for some time so firefighters could continue to mop up.
There is no cause at this time, it is under investigation, but firefighters do say it seems suspicious.
