MEDICAL LAKE, Wash. - Firefighters in Medical Lake say the fire has been knocked down, but not contained. We are told about 5 acres total have burned, not the 10-15 that was originally reported.

In all about 15-20 homes were evacuated and many homeowners were trying to protect their homes with garden hoses. The flames came so close to some homes that some yards were actually burned, however no structures were damaged.

Homeowners now being let back in, but roads in the area will stay closed for now.
