UPDATE FROM KHQ'S Kelsey Watts: At this afternoon's press conference, Interim Spokane Police Chief Scott Stephens, got teary eyed as have many others I spoke with today. Other than medical-related issues this is the first time an active duty officer has died on the force in decades, and it's hitting everyone hard. Stephens thanked the community for their outpouring of support, and also said he's angry the driver of the truck that ran over him didn't stop to help.
UPDATE FROM KHQ'S Kelsey Watts: Just got two officers who worked with Kurt, they both cried, so heartbreaking. One got the call in the middle of the night because he's part of the support staff for the rest of the dept. Mayor ordered city flags be flown at half staff in his honor, we're getting video of that now, awaiting chief presser.
UPDATE: The pickup truck that struck Henson has been located, however the driver has still not been found. Authorities are not saying where they found the truck. Keep checking back to this web channel for new details throughout the day.
