PRESS RELEASE FROM THE WASHINGTON STATE PATROL: The Washington State Patrol was involved in a pursuit with a vehicle, leading to a standoff, involving Spokane County Sheriff's Office SWAT Team at the suspect's residence, ultimately resulting in the voluntary surrender of the suspect without incident.
Just after midnight on July 20, 2013, an Airway Heights man, Brandon G. Hagreen, was observed committing multiple traffic violations, when a WSP Trooper attempted to stop Hagreen, westbound I-90 near Altamont.
A pursuit ensued, ending at Hagreen's residence in the Airway Heights area. Airway Heights Police Department, Spokane International Airport Police and the Spokane County Sheriff's Office assisted the WSP.
Hagreen's family, who were in the residence at the time, exited the home and cooperated with law enforcement's attempts to coax Hagreen from the home.
The Spokane County Sheriff's Office SWAT team was activated and a search warrant was obtained to enter the residence and arrest Hagreen. During SWAT operations, Hagreen exited the house and was taken into custody without incident.
WSP Sergeant Scott Lasher commented. "I would like to thank the Spokane County Sheriff's Office, their volunteers, Airway Heights Police Department and the Spokane International Airport Police for their assistance. The assistance of these agencies resulted in the safe apprehension of a dangerous driver, which could have escalated into a volatile situation".
Hagreen, who had an outstanding warrant for DUI, is being charged with Attempting to Elude a Police Officer, Reckless Driving, Driving Under the Influence and Driving on a Revoked Driver's License. Hagreen was booked into the Spokane County Jail.
