TRAFFIC ALERT: One Hour Closures For Rock Blasting Scheduled This Week On Snoqualmie Pass

HYAK, Wash. -  One hour closures are planned for rock blasting four nights this week on Interstate 90 east of Snoqualmie Pass and drivers should plan for added travel time.

The Washington State Department of Transportation and contractor crews are closing the pass 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., Monday, Aug. 27 through Thursday, Aug. 30 from Hyak (milepost 54) to the Price Creek Sno-Park (milepost 61).

Drivers should also plan for added travel time Monday through Thursday due to increased construction activity and rolling slowdowns. Exit 54 westbound is currently open, but drivers should anticipate temporary closures of the ramp throughout the week.

Due to heavy traffic volumes over Labor Day weekend, there will not be construction-related lane closures on Monday, Sept. 3.
