Toddler Hit By Alleged Drunk Driver Now Recovering At Home

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. - A Spokane Valley toddler who was hit by an alleged drunk driver Saturday while riding in a bicycle trailer with her parents is now recovering at home.

Danika Packard, 2, in now recovering from a fractured skull, broken nose and wrist. She was wearing a helmet.

Her parents, Danny and Tracy Packard, are having to take an extended period of time off work in order to keep an eye on Danika all hours of the day, even while she sleeps.

They tell KHQ the support from family and friends is what is pulling them through this incredibly difficult time.

The couple also wants to thank the witnesses that helped locate the alleged drunk driver as well as the Spokane County Sheriff's Deputies who quite possibly saved their daughters life.

That man suspected of drunk driving and hit and run is 22 year-old Timmy Nguyen. He is now facing charges for drunk driving and vehicular assault. He will be in court some time in August.
