BENEWAH COUNTY, Idaho - A 73-year-old woman was killed Monday morning after a car crash in Benewah County.
Idaho State Police say 76-year-old Edward Nordin of St. Maries, was driving his vehicle westbound on Benewah Road when he went off the roadway and struck a tree. His vehicle caught fire following the crash. Nordin and one of his passengers were injured in the crash and taken to the hospital. Their condition is unknown. Nordin's other passenger, 73-year-old Marjorie Welch of St. Maries, was thrown from the vehicle and died as a result of her injuries. Police say none of the three occupants were wearing seatbelts. The crash is still under investigation.
