Spokane Valley Police: Thousands In Jewelry Taken In Burglary

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. - On Wednesday, October 17, 2012, Spokane Valley Sheriff's Deputy T.M. Walker responded to a residential burglary call near the 10800 block of East 35th. Deputy Walker contacted the homeowner who told her that he and his wife left for work at 7:00 a.m. and when he returned home at 5:00 p.m. he noticed the sliding glass door in his bedroom was open.   The homeowner found his wife's floor standing jewelry box open and most of her jewelry appeared to be missing. Items missing included rings, necklaces, diamond studs and other jewelry valued at or above $10,000.00.   Deputy Walker spoke with a neighbor who said he was working in his shop until about 12:30 p.m. and did not notice any suspicious people or vehicles in the neighborhood. He stated he makes it a point to watch over the neighbors' homes when they are at work. However, he left his residence at about 12:30 p.m. and returned at 3:00 p.m.   >>>Anybody that may have seen any suspicious activity during this time frame is asked to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233.
