Spokane Valley Police: Burglar CAUGHT INSIDE Les Schwab Tires

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE SPOKANE VALLEY POLICE DEPT: On Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at 2:00 a.m., Spokane Valley Sheriff's Deputies responded to an alarm call at Les Schwab Tires located at 15911 E. Sprague Avenue. Sgt. D. Lawson was the first to arrive on scene and located an unsecure door on the southwest side of the business.    Sheriff's K9 Brax responded to the store with his handler. K9 Brax and his handler entered the business and immediately located 45-year-old Kenneth Hooper inside the business. Hooper complied with K9 Brax' handler's commands and was taken into custody without incident.   Deputy J. Howe escorted Hooper to his patrol vehicle and searched the male incident to arrest. Deputy Howe located two golf ball size baggies in Hooper's groin area containing a white crystalline substance Deputy Howe recognized to be methamphetamine from his training and experience.  When Deputy Howe placed the methamphetamine on the hood of his patrol vehicle, Hooper told him that it was not his "groin" area and he had no idea where the methamphetamine came from.  The substance was field tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine. Hooper was booked into the Spokane County Jail for the felony charges of 2nd Degree Burglary and Possession of a Controlled Substance, methamphetamine.
