Spokane County Marine Patrol Wins Award

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane County Marine Patrol Unit won the Marine Law Enforcement Program of the Year award from the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission.

This award is given to the program with the best marine law enforcement and boater safety education in the state.

The state's Parks and Recreation representative gave the award to the unit during the annual Marine Officers Conference that was held here in Spokane.

Sergeant Jim Gladden was very excited about winning this important award.

"It meant quite a bit to us, there has been a lot of hard work and effort from the deputies, we have put together missions, we have had a lot of training time and it just came together for us to win this state award, " Sgt. Gladden said.
