Shoshone County Inmate Dies After Choking

SHOSHONE COUNTY,
Idaho - An inmate in Shoshone County died Thursday after choking at the Public
Safety Building.
 
Corrections Deputies
were notified of an inmate choking and immediately called for medical assistance
from firefighters and paramedics. Medical aide was administered to the inmate
until outside medical units arrived, however during that time the inmate choking
could not dislodge the item.
 
The inmate was
transported to Shoshone Medical Center by ambulance, however later died at the
hospital.
 
The name of the
inmate is being withheld until notification of next of kin. An autopsy will be
performed.
 
The case remains
under investigation.
