Search For Missing Rafter In Idaho County To Resume Today

UPDATE: The search for 54-year-old Alexander Belyaev will resume later today. Stay with KHQ Local News for the very latest developments throughout the day on this story.

GRANGEVILLE, Idaho - The Idaho County Sheriff's Office is currently conducting a search of the Snake River for missing rafter 54-year-old Alexander Belyaev of Seattle, WA.

Belyaev left the Hells Canyon Dam area on Friday, planning to raft to Pittsburg Landing where he had left his vehicle. Belyaev was reported overdue when he had not returned to work this morning.

Upon receiving the report that Belyaev was overdue, the Idaho County Sheriff's Office located Belyaev's vehicle at Pittsburg Landing and began organizing a search. 

With the assistance of Killgore Adventures, Idaho County Sheriff's Deputies and Search and Rescue searched the river by boat until after dark.  The search will resume in the morning.
