River Levels Determine When Boat Launch Will Open

POST FALLS, Idaho. - Q'emiln Park's boat launch and beach are still closed.
They will not re-open until the Post Falls Dam stops spilling, and that will happen as soon as the water gets down to about 5400 cubic feet per second.
Right now, the river is rushing at 6260 cubic feet per second. Avista estimates that it will be able to stop spilling the dam around mid-July, and Post Falls Parks and Rec is hoping they will be able to open up the beach on the weekend of July 21st, but both of those estimates are dependent on the weather.
Call the Post Falls Parks and Rec if you would like to know if the beach is open before you head out there. Their number is 208-773-8147.
Also, there is a community meeting on work that Avista is doing to the Post Falls Dam on Tuesday at the Post Falls Police Department.
