POST FALLS, Idaho- A Post Falls mom told police Monday she forgot her son was in her car while she went shopping at Wal-Mart for nearly an hour. Post Falls Police were called to the Wal-Mart off of Mullan Avenue after witnesses saw a 5-year-old boy inside a car alone, sweating with the windows rolled up and the car turned off. Police say Felicia Williams left her son inside the car for nearly an hour while temps inside the car were more than 99 degrees. According to the police report Williams' son was sweating and his hair was wet from being inside the car. When Williams finally came out of the store police say she was "very nervous" and very upset and told police "she had forgotten she had her son with her." KHQ has chosen not to name her son because he is a juvenile. After police had taken him out of the car he was taken in to custody by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare and it has yet to be determined if he can return to his mother police say. Felicia Williams was cited for child abuse or neglect. In 2009 Williams was stopped and ticketed for not having proper safety restraint to a child under 6 years old. It's unknown if both incidents involved the same child. KHQ was not able to contact Williams or her family.
