Police Chief Finalists Set To Interview Wednesday

SPOKANE, Wash. - The final three candidates will all be in town Wednesday as they enter the final phase of the interview process to become the Spokane's next Chief of Police.

The search, which began last fall to find a new top cop, will conclude with three finalists participating in five interview panels including one which will be open to the public.

The three that will be interviewed include:

Daniel Mahoney, the Commanding Officer of the Ingleside Police Station in San Francisco.

George Markert, the Director of Public Integrity for the City of Rochester.

Frank Straub, the Director of Public Safety for the City of Indianapolis. Candidates will face questioning from city leaders, the police advisory committee, business leaders and the community.

Interviews start just after 11:00AM tomorrow morning and go through the afternoon.

Residents can also attend a reception with the finalists as a part of a meet and greet in the Chase Gallery from 4:30PM to 6:00PM

If you would like the chance to see these interviews but can't make it in person, they will be shown live on City Cable 5 and streamed on their website.
