SPOKANE, Wash. - When police charged Avondre Graham with Sharlotte McGill's murder, some of her neighbors were thrilled. "I was ecstatic," Valerie Johnson said.
"I am going to sleep so well, haven't slept in quite awhile. Very well," Johnson said.
Johnson wasn't the only one who more safe with Graham behind bars. Many of the neighbors that talked to KHQ were filled with relief.
"I am relieved. I am relieved that something is being done. and our neighborhood is a little bit safer,"Weston Taylor
He said that even though he feels safer, he knows that this is an incredibly difficult time for Graham's family.
" It's a mix emotion, it's good Sharlotte is getting closure, but I am sure it's hard on his family. He is only 17, that is going to ruin his whole life. But at least something is being done about Sharlotte's murder," Taylor said.
