Labor Day Travels Around Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. - The national average price for of a gallon of gas has increased to about $3.75. But in Washington, average prices are a little higher. People in this state will pay $4.03 per gallon of gas. But in Spokane, the averages are a little better. AAA says that you will pay an average of 3.83 around the Spokane area. Those numbers are only expected to increase coming into the holiday weekend.

Shelley Schaer is driving into the Spokane area from Seattle, and she said that the high gas prices are not going to keep her and her family away from a vacation. "Staying in a hotel is more expensive technically, because we already have the motor home, so it's not so bad. You can't detour yourself because then you would stay home all the time," Schaer said.

AAA does expect the price of gas to drop significantly after the holiday.
