KHQ.COM - Washington State Patrol troopers on Thursday were involved in the pursuit of a vehicle on I-90 and U.S. Highway 2 that ended at Hwy. 2 & Campbell Rd. in Airway Heights.
It started on westbound I-90 close to downtown Spokane, when WSP tried to stop the driver of a vehicle that had no front license plate. However the driver didn't stop and continued on I-90, up Sunset Hill and onto westbound Hwy. 2.
It was not a high speed chase, as speeds rarely exceeded 40 miles per hour, according to WSP. The male driver pulled off the highway into the parking lot of a business in an attempt to escape the troopers, but when he realized there was no way out, he rammed a trooper's car in order to to get back out onto the highway. Troopers then pitted the suspect on Hwy. 2 and Campbell Rd.
According to WSP, the suspect, whose name was not immediately released, had drug-related warrants for his arrest. He told WSP troopers he didn't want to be pulled over because "he had drugs in his car."
