Increased Patrols In High Bridge Park

SPOKANE, Wash. - Since March, the Spokane Police Department has increased the amount of officers that patrol High Bridge Park in Spokane.

Officer Tim Ottmar said that they have had complaints for lewd conduct and reports of people having sex in the park.

They have given out about 4 tickets for lewd conduct. This park also has a problem with alcohol, drugs, and littering.

According to police, some of that litter includes used condoms. Police are trying to deter this kind of practice at a public city park.

"This is a city park. Treat it as a city park," Officer Ottmar said.

He said that SPD is actively trying to prevent crimes and make this park more family friendly.

Anyone who does get ticketed with lewd conduct could face up to an $1,000 fine.
