OLYMPIA, Wash. - Gov. Chris Gregoire has directed that flags at all Washington state agency buildings be lowered to half-staff today in memory of U.S. Army Private First Class Jarrod A. Lallier, 20, of Spokane. Lallier received a posthumous promotion to Specialist.
Lallier was killed June 18th in Afghanistan of injuries he sustained when his patrol received small arms fire.
The flag lowering coincides with Lallier's memorial service, and flags should remain at half-staff until close of business Monday, or first thing Tuesday morning, July 3rd.
His funeral will be this afternoon at 1pm at Life Center.
